Qualified applicants property of primary residence will have no increase in assessed value for the tax year applied for. Documents providing income and or disability must be submitted along with application for consideration. This must be applied for annually no later than 30 days after receipt of Notice of Value.
Non Governmental Claim of Exemption (PDF file)
The year of property acquisition a non government entity must apply for tax exempt status. Application must be made before the last day of February. Once exempt status is granted no further report need be made as long as eligibility and ownership remain unchanged.
Application for Agricultural Use/Livestock Reporting (PDF file)
Land where the primary use is agricultural in nature receives a lower than market valuation. First time applicants must provide evidence of bona fide agricultural use for the previous year. If land was valued under this section in a prior year no additional application need be made unless there has been a change in property use. Livestock must be rendered annually.
Protest of Valuation (PDF)
If property owners disagree with the value assigned by the assessor's office they have thirty days from the mailing of the Notice of Value to formally protest the valuation. As of May 16th, 2011, the protest period for tax year 2011 has closed. This form will be made available when the protest period for 2012 is opened.

Real Property Affidavit (PDF)
A person presenting a Deed, Real Estate Contract or Memorandum of Real Estate Contract which transfers residential property to the County Clerk for recording must also file an Affidavit with the Assessor. This document must be filed with the Assessor no later than thirty days after recordation with the Clerk.
Request to Assess Manufactured Homes (PDF)
This combines the land assessment and the manufactured home assessment into one. It is done when purchasing as a land/home package, or a refinance. This inactivates the title to the manufactured home and changes it from personal property to real estate. Owner must have a permanent foundation inspection report from the NM Manufactured Housing Division.
