Valerie Espinoza has a weekly television program entitled Santa Fe County Today which can be viewed on Channel 16 (Community Access). She also has a radio program on Que Suave Radio KSWV AM 810 that airs every Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m.

Important Notice! 2008 General Election Early Voting

Early Voitng Begins on October 7th and will run until November 1st.

 Starting October 7th, voting will be at the Santa Fe County Courthouse, 102 Grant Avenue. Hours are Mon.-Fri. 8AM-5PM
 
 Starting October 18th Five alternate  Early Voting Sites will be open. Hours are Tues.-Fri. 12PM-8PM--Sat. 10AM-6PM

Vision and Mission Statements

The vision of the Santa Fe County Clerk’s Office is to be the most productive elections and recording office with the best customer service and the best solutions for conducting elections and recording documents and accessing public records.

The mission of the Recording Division of the Clerk’s office is to maintain a perpetual, comprehensive set of public records consisting of all documents appropriately presented for recording for the public so that any member of the public can readily access the information to conduct their personal and business activities with the assurance that, where appropriate, privacy will be protected and that their transactions were executed in accordance with the law.

The mission of the Bureau of Elections Division of the Clerk’s Office is to provide accurate voter registration files and election canvasses, while conducting elections to ensure that each individual voter has an opportunity for equal participation in a non-partisan, respectful and professional environment.

The duties assigned to the County Clerk by state law include:

Recording

  • All Official Acts of the Board of County Commissioners
  • Deeds
  • Mortgages
  • Deeds of Trust
  • Judgments
  • Satisfactions of Judgment
  • Liens
  • Marriage Certificates
  • Wills
  • Death Certificates

Issuing

  • Marriage Licenses
  • Business Licenses - Including Mobile Home Parks
  • Liquor Licenses

The county clerk's office also accepts Santa Fe County lodgers tax payments. To view and print a lodgers tax form, click here.

Election Administration

  • Voter Registration and Maintenance of Registration Files
  • Conduct Primary, General, Statewide, Special, and School District Elections.
  • Maintenance of County’s Voting Systems
  • Conduct Training for Precinct Board
  • File County Political Party Rules
  • Filing for Candidates and Campaign Reports for Single-County Legislative Candidates and for School District Candidates.
