Aamodt Public Outreach MeetingsThe final Aamodt community outreach report is now available ( See Below). The final report is compiled from information gathered at the 10 public outreach meetings held during February and March 2010 The Joe M Stell Ombudsman Program of the Utton Center at the University of New Mexico School of Law hosted the Aamodt public outreach meetings. The outreach meetings invited local community members and leaders to obtain answers and discuss the Aamodt case, settlement, and proposed Regional Water System. Approximately 205 people attended the meetings held at community centers in the Valley. Darcy Bushnell, of the Ombudsman Program, conducted the sessions and Judge Michael Nelson and settlement parties attended. "The outreach meetings were designed to be a communication outlet for all parties to discuss the settlement and more importantly to obtain information and ask questions," said Commissioner Harry Montoya. The Aamodt adjudication is the longest-running lawsuit in the federal court system. It will determine the quantity and priority date of all water rights, including those of the Pueblos, in the Nambe, Tesuque, and Pojoaque basin.
