Records Management

Fire Departments have several Federal, State and Local records requirements.  SFCFD utilizes a web-based software program called Emergency Reporting (ER). This is the official record of all SFCFD emergency responses. As such, it is necessary that data be complete, correct and as detailed as possible. Data is exported to National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS, New Mexico EMS Bureau (NMSTARS) and to the billing office. Reports must contain all necessary data to support all legal requirements for compliance, protocol, policy and patient billing.

The department also uses ER to Track Inventory; Manage Training; Create Reports and Monitor Trends; Library and Department Resource Repository; Personnel Membership Records; Volunteer Incentive Hours; and all records pertaining to the ISO and fire ratings for each fire district.
