Employee Benefits
The County of Santa Fe currently has a great benefit package for all regular employees that are full-time, and part-time (20) hours or more per week. The County of Santa Fe participates in the State of New Mexico Health Benefit Plans and is implemented and administered by the Risk Management Division (RMD). This plan offers health coverage for, medical, dental, vision, basic life, short and long term disability, supplemental life, (POP) premium only plan, and pre-paid legal. The medical insurance also provides a nurse hotline 24/7. The County of Santa Fe also participates in the (PERA) Public Employee Retirement Association (PERA), deferred compensation; flexible spending accounts, workers compensation, a retiree health plan, and an employee assistance program (EAP).

Retirement Benefits
The County of Santa Fe provides a 25-year retirement for regular classified employees and a retirement of 20 years for uniformed law enforcement officers, and firefighter members. This is monitored through Public Employee Retirement Association (PERA). www.pera.state.nm.us
- The county of Santa Fe contributes to the New Mexico Public Employee Retirement Association (PERA) for all eligible employees. Santa Fe County employees are on PERA Municipal Plan 3.
- Santa Fe County employees are eligible for retirement after 25 years @ 75% or 26.8 years @ 80%
- SFC Fire and Sheriff’s are on the PERA Municipal Plan 5 and are eligible for retirement after 20 years @ 70% or 22.10 @ 80%

Each full-time, part-time, classified, probationary, term and at-will employee accrue sick leave for each hour actually worked excluding overtime and for each hour paid at 0.0385 per hour worked.
Holidays
Employees receive 12 paid holidays each year.
Personal Holiday
Employees receive one personal leave day, per year.
