Retirement: Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office employees, with the exception of Rehires,  participate in the Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA). They are eligible to retire after 20 years of service and regardless of age. Upon retirement, officers will receive 70% of their pay from the last three years of their employment. Employees who wish to retire after 22 years and 10 months, will receive 80% of their pay from the last three years of their employment.
